Dang. I've been playing for near on 30 years and still trying to master this instrument and if I had known about this I could have had my diploma in just 2 hours.

@Steamrollin Stan, I was wondering what would happen if a good player was among the folk in the "team building" exercise. I suppose it would depend on the skill and temperment of the coach. I noted that they did not let us hear the coach play in the demo clip.

@ Frank, I have been taking martial arts for about 5 years now and I notice a tremedous overlap with music. The dicipline required and the mucle memory training are the same. It is surprising how often comments made by a conductor are appropriate for the do jong, and comments made by a Grand Master are appropriate for the symphony. I would recomend martial arts to any musician and to any martial artist I would advise taking up an instrument. the two are quite complimentary.

I beg to differ on buying belts. Anyone can "earn" a black belt in 5 years if you look for the right places. I studied with a traditionally (family) trained martial artist from Japan for many years. Regularly multi degree black belts from the Austin area would come by his house to train with him. He would have them put on a demonstration of their skills and everytime came out with a white belt. He said it wasn't their faults. Their instructors trained them wrong- rushed them through and they had no foundation. He would tell them they would have a very hard road unlearning what they know. None stuck around. I see the same scenario in todays internet music learning world. It creates cut and paste players that never learn the root because their teachers never learned it. Most of the internet teachers I read about have no backround with the blues greats and often very little to no pro/full time playing experience. The root is what it all is about. America is about get it right now and if you have the cash that is always there for you. Walter
