ive noticed its been quite a while since Ron has had any mics for sale on his ebay account. and for quite a long time before he just had the 1 mic for sale, which was quite a expensive mic and clearly took a while to move. just wondered if anyone knows whether he has quit the game. i notice the link in the sidebar still goes to his myspace page but he hasnt logged in there for over 2 years... ----------
money is tight now for everyone...what is selling is going at a tremendous discount. i suspect he is just laying low until prices rebound...just my opinion.
GREAT guy to deal with! We have done business buying and selling....mics, amps, pedals...
Hey ya'll. A friend told me this thread was here. Long story short: I have a basement full of great mics, and no time to list them on Ebay. However, I will get a big batch up soon. I honestly have no idea what the market is doing. I have just been busy. Working on a new recording with my big band, two kids, gigs, etc. I noticed that I was not turning much of a profit on the mic business, and it was taking up a lot of my time. I will at the very least sell off the massive inventory that I have stockpiled. The way I list them with the videos, and all the photos, it takes me forever. But, I believe in doing it right. So, as soon as I have a couple of days, I will put a bunch of mics on Ebay. And, I have MANY to repair and sell in the future. Just concentrating on making music (and trying to make money from it) of late. Be well, and thanks for the kind words. -Ron S.
Good to know Ron, thanks for the update. I appreciate the effort you put into the business. In the meantime I think I will have to purchase those recordings . Dave
You are very kind, JD. I wouldn't call it an innovation. Just doing the things I know how to do. Maybe a coincidence. And if it weren't for Adam Gussow, I would be an even worse harmonica player. In 1990, he came to my first gig as a bandleader. I think I tried to play "Tenor Madness," and fluffed several of the notes badly. He had a little talk with me afterwards about standards of quality, articulation, precision of bending, and his words really stuck with me. Made me realize I had to try a lot harder, that real musicians who really knew the tunes were really listening, and that I better play them right. 22 years later, I would like to think his words made somewhat of a difference. They sure made me try harder. Thanks, Adam!
If Ron does'nt know of any other bands out there like his - and he has'nt mentioned any, then he is sorta like Walter and Spontobeat..."one of a kind" a very special breed in deed!
