Yeah -calling myself a 'semi-pro' is probably being generous. As I quiped recently, - these days I spend more on harmonicas than I make with them. BUT - - - I did some session work on a recent CD - which also features Aynsly Dunbar on drums (Mayall's Blues Breaker, Fleetwood Mac, Frank Zappa) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aynsley_Dunbar and Mike Finnegan on organ (played with everyone from Hendrix to Etta James, Buddy Guy, Bonnie Rait, - you name it) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Finnigan
nah - I didn't meet or play directly with either of them. But I was honored and pleased as punch to be asked to sweeten tracks on the same project as them. That does make me semi-something doesn't it? Semi-Crazy I know, I know already!
the CD: http://dougsteigerwald.bandcamp.com/album/three-months I'm on tracks 5, 9, and 11 ----------

I'm likin' it! Nicely done. (the web site is very slick as well. I'll have to dive into bandcamp. Click the logo at the bottom and you're in)

Yeah - skipped that part of his musical 'Journey" eharp, ugh, - sorry. Glad you like Bluemoose - thanks for the virtual tip 1847 - - Bandcamp does look pretty cool. I have two CD's on CD Baby but will look into putting them up there too.
This one (with Aynsley) is decidely NOT a harmonica CD fyi - I'm just 'sweetening' a few tracks - as I said . The closest thing to a lead is where the guitar and I double up @1:27 on cut 5. The biggest challenge was working out the doubling line I do with the piano @ 1;36 on cut 11. It's not a staight blues lick - and gasp - (if memory serves) incorporates an overblow.
onward on the road to semi-pro-dum I get to do a gig with Paula Harris in a few weeks. A very hot local blues Diva. Click on the video here - and watch Mr. Heumann do it justice playing with her at his Redwood City Jam - I'm taking notes. http://www.reverbnation.com/paulaharrismusic
in the meantime-as per usual, I'm playing with myself. Break out the violins and the hanky ;) ----------------------------------------------------------------

Aynsley Dunbar is my favorite drummer. I think he was better than Neal Peart (back in the day) or any other drummer that I saw anyway. I saw him when he was with Journey before Steve Perry ruined the band. They were the best jam band in their day before Perry came and turned them from rock to pop. ---------- snakes in Snohomish

Never saw Aynsley live - but on Zappa's Baby Snakes movie he is flat out stupefying on the live concert footage.
Re." Finnegan plays harp" I must be better, er- um cheaper anyway.
