I got a Shure Slim X 777 through Ebay and it worked great. Until today, that is. I picked up the cable to move it to another place and the plug end fell right off.

I am looking for a replacement or someone who can repair it as it is the original cable.

If someone can lead me to a reasonably priced replacement or perhaps you have the mic but it does not work which makes the cable useless to you please contact me via email at:

Greg Heumann of www.blowsmeaway.com could probably repair or replace the cable. There may be others on this list, too.

I'm curious of why you don't go with an adapter? At least with an adapter if someone steps on your cable the mic won't be jerked out of your hand and hit the floor. Crytal elements don't liked to be dropped. :o)

Hi, Ray. My real name is Ray, too.I just checked the link you gave me. That screw on end of the original cable I have is perfectly fine. The part that fell off is the end that plugs into the amp.I'll just end up getting a new cable somewhere.

The end that plugs into the amp is called a "phone" connector. They are also frequently referred to as "1/4" connectors." They come in 2 flavors - 2 conductor, with the sections of the plug called "Tip/Ring"; and "Tip/Ring/Sleeve" which provides 3 conductors and is commonly used for stereo headphones. All you need is a "tip/ring" or "mono" 1/4" connector - and you can get them at Radio Shack and repair your own cable. They even have some where you only have to tighten screws to clamp the wires in - you don't have to solder. (Soldering is better, however.)

I knew I could count on you for some info, Greg. I am not afraid to solder. I just know very little about mic repair. Seems pretty basic, though.
