Born in N.Carolina, don't remember it at all. Raised just North of Atlanta, Georgia. Still live North of Atlanta. Played guitar all my life and entertained family for years until I grew long hair and played in bands. Lucky for me, I got to play with some big players. Been playing part time on harp as my second instrument.

Born in DuBois, PA.

Imediately moved to and was raised in Cammal, PA.

In 1983 I moved to Williamsport, PA where I have lived ever since.

I got my 1st harp when I was 12, I think. Played off and on up until last year, when the desire to get good at it overwhelmed me, and I've been hammering at it ever since.

My wife is a wonderfully patient woman. She says it's much more enjoyable to listen to me now. Thanks Hon.

Born in Jersey (UK), and now live between France, London and Jersey.

My first harp was a blues harp bought in Toledo in Spain and my first concert was Cephas and Wiggins at the Arts Centre in Jersey! Very lucky!

Favourite Harp man is Sir Sonny Boy Williamson.

I have a band called Giles Robson and the DIrty Aces and we can be found here: www.gilesrobson-thedirtyaces.com

Many thanks,

I live in Irvine, CA (Orange County). I've lived in Southern California my whole life, and in Irvine for 5 of the past 6 years.

I would love to hear about any local harp players I could listen to and learn from.
I know Tex Nakamura of the 44s Band (and previously from War) is nearby - still haven't seen him play, but I'm sure I will soon.

I was born in Springfield, IL. My parents moved us about 15 miles west of town when I was nine months old to a little German founded community called New Berlin. Home of the New Berlin Pretzels. Always thought that was a lackluster mascot since Pretzels would be eaten by almost any animal mascotted team. Grew up out there, and moved back into Springfield when I was 21. Been playing harp solidly for about 3 1/2 years now.

Born in Karlskrona, Sweden. Now situated in Gothenburg, our major western port city. I have been playing the harp for some six months or so. Been stalking this forum for half that time. This forum is amazing with it's wide distribution of contributors' skill. I have seen it said that it's "pros and semipros" that hangs here but I think that it's just serious players of all skill and experience.

Hello all, it might be time for a little introduction from my part. I posted on this forum a while back with the username Carl_Comfort, I changed my email, so changed my username. That username was a little too ironic anyway.

Now it’s Karl Hungus..named after the big Lebowski actor Uli Kunkul from that beaver flick ‘Logjammin’. Anyway, my real name is Karel, I’m form Holland. I live in Amsterdam now.

I started playing somewhere in 2007. I bought a hohnher bluesharp as a little gimmick besides the singing I did in a band. I thought maybe there is some tutorial to find on YT. I stumbled upon Adam’s videos, and was hooked to the show immediately. I had a break for a year though, let’s call it a motivation dip. If you play harp please send me a friend request on youtube, that would be great. My page is http://www.youtube.com/user/neuropatico

Pleased to meet you all!

Mike B., living on the north coast of NSW, Australia.
Didn't pick up a harp till I was 40 years old. Played in a number of bands now plus doing duo work.
Stumbled on this site just a few months ago and was inspired to learn 1st position. Long way to go on that one, but I'll get there.

I'm originally from a village called Walsall Wood, which is on the outer reaches of The Black Country, in Great Britain - the name originates from the Industrial Revolution and refers to the dirt and grime of the place. Robert Plant was born in this area and Steve Winwood was born close by in the suburbs of Birmingham.

These days I live on the Isle of Man, a small island between Britain and Ireland. I would respectfully call the music/blues scene here 'fragmented'. Why? Because it seems that the people who attend the excellent, successful annual Blues Festival do not attend other gigs, not even the monthly Blues Club (which has existed for over forty years); the people who go to the Blues Club do not, in the main, go to either the Festival or the other gigs...

It is, to say the least, frustrating.

I don't know if I'll stay here for the rest of my life but right now my family likes it here and there's not much going on in England musically, because of the economic climate of course. I have a band here and it's starting to sound good, as we play as a team, an ensemble, which is of course utterly essential.
