Thank for anyone answer my questions
can the framework of 12 bar blues be changed?
I mean:for example, the fourth bar must be the?chord in the taching video of adam(if iI don't mistake it ).But I have seen a teaching material called ?Teach yourself blues harmonica 10 eassy lessions?by Peter Gelling,he said the fourth bar have no chord.
what's wrong?or I am just mistake it.

i think you misread it.
but the structure of the 12 bar progression can change. there are a few variants of the basic 12 bar.

Before I understood the concept of the 12 bars and chord changes I struggled with the concept, even after watching several videos, even Adams. So whatever reason this video here gave me that A-ha! moment. The video is somewhat chaotic and has that fingernails on the chalkboard quality but... it gets the point across.

Even more basic. I think it may have been one of Tony Glover's books:
Draw 2 sixteen times
Blow 4 eight times
Draw 2 eight times
Draw 4 four times
Blow 4 four times
Draw 4 eight times
Now you have 12-bar blues

The 4th bar has no chord? I haven't heard that one before.

Sounds like maybe instead of saying that "the fourth bar have no chord" Peter might have been trying to say that the first four bars have the ONE chord. Anyhow that's the way it is most of the time, but yeah, like eharp says, there are some variations.

If you listen to a lot of blues you have probably been hearing it all along without paying it much attention and you might already play well over the chord changes instinctively. Sometimes it takes just a little while before you can see the structure on paper and reconcile the concept with what your ears are hearing.

@Reedsqueal
that 12 bar drill is good practice but cant understand why it stays on the I chord on bar 12 eliminating any turn around

@groyster1 - Good point! I hadn't even realized that because by the time "I got it" I was already playing a turnaround. It's automatic, but now I need to build up some more turnarounds that are automatic too!

The important thing is, if you are doing a variation, let the band know. As long as the band is all doing the same thing you're good.

Turn arounds piss me off if they happen every 12th bar. Sometimes sitting on the 1 is the thing to do.

Lots of ways to change up a 12 bar progression.

Jumping to the 4 in the 2nd bar is quite normal for example assuming the whole band is doing it
