This is probably the coolest thing I've ever bought for myself. The last two years have been absolutely horrid in my life on just about every level, and this was my treat to myself. I couldn't afford a new tv, so I got the coolest harp case ever assembled!

Slim has been amazing to work with. His communication, attention to detail, and excitement are literally first class in all my experiences working with small companies.

The price, IMO, was VERY reasonable. In fact, I was surprised at the grand total compared to the detail. This wasn't a very straightforward build and we had to sorta make things up as we went.

I had originally has just asked for a black case with the caution strip lid - maybe one that opened like a trap. He emailed me back with plans to make this one - 100x cooler than what I had dreamed of.

There is evidently a strong market for DIY Ghostbusters props and I am in the middle of securing professionally done labels for a ghost trap. I am going to add them and see if it still looks cool (easy enough to remove).

I've been an ENORMOUS Ghostbusters fan since I was a kid. I don't have a crazy collection or anything - quite modest. I have a fascination with the Far East concept of "hungry ghosts", and I've always felt that Slimer represents a hungry ghost himself. The trap and no ghost logo, to me, represent the ideas of recognizing and eliminating hungry ghosts.

On the last NiteRail album, I wrote a song called Hungry Ghosts, and I jokingly refer to my at home rehearsal set-up as Hungry Ghost Studios. I must admit it is a bit of an obsession for me. Its sorta funny as I don't really believe in the traditional concept of ghosts.

I to this day know ghost busters word for word

It was featured so heavily in my childhood. I have some toys from then too. My favorite being a sort of hard rubber stay puffed marshmallow man.

Movie is pure genius.

The only other movie that resonated the same out of those 80s movies was goonies but I'd take ghost busters any day over it.

Again man congrats that case is so freaking cool.

And slim all I can say is wow.

Coincidentally, my 3yr old is wearing a GB's shirt today, lol. He really liked the cartoon. I've been renting them via Netflix.

someone's gotta ask-
WHO YA GONNA CALL??

watched, and liked, the movie when it came out in mid 80's.
then my oldest was loving it a few years later with all the toys that came out. he's now 25 and made a very cool ghostbuster costume last year for halloween.
and my youngest, 16, has been into them since he could push the dang gb car around the floor. he says he aint into them anymore but i always catch him watching at least some of it when it's on tv.

looks like another very unique case!

Instead of playing/practising the harmonica like i should,i procrastinate by buildings things, mikes, cables ,speaker cabs and Harp Cases.
My last case has room for two L/Wolf pedals 12 diatonics and a Biscuit mike plus cable.
The Harp break is permantly connected to the delay by a(very) short cable.I leave them in the case like a pedal board.
On the outer shell of the case i have mounted two female quarter inch plugs. One is backwired to a male quarter inch which goes in to the 'in' of the harp break and the other is backwired to the 'out' of the delay. These plugs stay in permanently.
So now without removing anything from the case i can just put my mike in the outside plug and the same with the cable to the amp.
I have also fitted a power strip into the case and leave the two pedals permanently plugged in with the cords hidden under the foam.Open the lid pull out the male power plug from the strip, connect extension cord away we go.
I love this set up,literally plug in and go.
Ha i've just remembered why i wrote this.
What are those two chrome 'thingies' sticking out of Ninjas case.(hope the answer doesn't embarass me)
Beautiful work by the way Slim

they are both mic stand thread adapters which can be used to convert the thread size on a mic stand so that the case can be mounted. Generally mic stands come with either a 3/8 or 5/8 thread, with a 3/8 thread the case can simply just be placed on top then locked in place with the 3/8 to 5/8 adapter which screws into the first adater on the side of the case.
with a mic stand with a 5/8 thread the 5/8 to 3/8 adapter is placed on the mic stand thread and then the case is placed on top and then locked in place again with the 3/8 to 5/8 adater.
Also the double as control nobs on the side of the case like a ghostbusters trap.(none functioning of course).
All my mic stand cases come with these as standard.

I made a case a while back for a customer who had a similar setup. it was a main case with his harmonicas in and then a case attachment with holes on either side for cable input/output and space inside for pedals and power adapters. That was a nice build. but i forgot to photograph it before i sent it off. Done that a few times now. So annoying that i dont have a pic of that case.

Slim since i built mine about a month or so ago i have already had two guys ask me to make them one.
I think there could be a real market for them especially with your design and build skills.
Both guys really liked the power strip inside the case as well as the exterior quarter inch female plugs idea.
Next one i do i am going to shorten the cable, swap the male plug off the power strip for a female one and mount that to the outside as well, so even the extension cord to the power supply plugs into the outside of the case
I hate mess and tangles on stage and this case solves a lot of those problems.
Of course this latest adaption involves 240volt AC so you have to know what you are doing in that regard.
Build yourself a prototype stick it on your site and you may have a winner.

This is my first build.Unfortunately my L/W pedal one is at the rehearsal room it is a bit more 'professional " looking.Ie lined up the jacks better at the back and used thicker foam inside much neater.

shame about the front of the case being in the way of the pedal switches. you can get cases that have a low front edge they use them for dj mixers etc.

I still use this case every day and smile every time I look at it. Every where I go, I get compliments, and it has really helped create part of my performing "image".

In addition, I paid for an 11/7 case that is smaller and easier to travel with. Again, I love it. Very classy looking and extremely well built.

As someone who has had a stake in harmonica products, and knows that end of things, my cases have been worth the cost, wait time, and communication.

We are blessed to have any options like this at all, and I know there are other case builders, and I am honored to have the resources to support small harmonica businesses.

Slim has put a lot of thought into design and differentiating - way to go!

Another happy customer here.....my tweed job always gets a lot of interest, has 'Howard's' autograph on it, and I'm sure Slim somehow slipped a bit of mojo in there somewhere....I'm always trying to find that!

Why is alright to praise a builder but not throw out the negative comments?
The former probably leads to the latter anyhow.
Just wondering.
I understand if it extended bashing, but what/who decides if it is extended?

I agree w/ eharp. Two dead threads have fertilized a beautiful flower. I wish all parties well but 'Let It Be' seems to have a new chorus.
